What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

  1. A strength

Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.

  2. A strength

Mega Sharpedo ex / Toxtricity runs it in 104 of the 104 lists we have read, seen across 93 different tournaments.

  3. A strength

It is a Basic Pokémon. You can put it down on your very first turn, with nothing to evolve through.

  4. A strength

Mark I. It is one of the marks currently accepted in Standard: H, I, and J.

  5. Keep in mind

Weakness Fighting ×2. Against a Fighting Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 5,818 tournament lists we have read, 1,321 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
