How we replay your games
You read numbers all over this site. This page tells you how we make them, and where we stand today. They move from week to week, so each one carries the day it was counted.
Counts taken on August 25, 2026
We're already reading the cards of November 2026
Delta Reign is the expansion announced for November 6, 2026 where you live. The announcement says it should carry the cards from Storm Emeralda, the set that came out in Japan at the end of July. We started learning those cards right away.
At the August 25, 2026 count, we read 57 of its 69 effect cards. An effect card is one that carries a rules box, the sentence that says what the card does. That count is redone with every update, and it climbs as we learn the rest.
Full games to check our counts
To know what we can play, we take the tournament decks of the moment, the real lists that players brought, and we have them play full games, from the first turn until one side wins. At the August 25, 2026 count: 4,110 games.
In those 4,110 games, not one attack was played by guessing at its text. When a card carries a sentence we have not learned yet, we set it aside and we count it, rather than invent what it would do. That count sits a little further down this page.
The matchups you read were really played
On the deck pages, when you read that one deck beats another, that score comes from online tournaments, with real players sitting across from each other. The platform that runs those tournaments counts their games one by one, and we read its table. At the August 25, 2026 reading: 67,367 games in the current Standard format.
A matchup only shows once it rests on at least a hundred games, and the number of games is written next to every score. Under a hundred, a handful of games can tip a matchup one way by plain luck, so the page shows nothing there.
What we still have to learn, counted
Some cards carry a sentence we have not learned yet. We count them every time. At the August 25, 2026 count, across everything the tournament decks bring: 0.2% of Trainer cards and 2.1% of Abilities are still waiting their turn.
Both counts are redone with every update. Every card we learn brings them down, and the cards that block the most decks come first.
