Noctowl has appeared in several sets: Stellar Crown (SCR 115) and Prismatic Evolutions (PRE 78). It is the same card every time — it plays the same, only the artwork and the price change. Here is what it does once it is on the table.

WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT
- Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.
- It has an Ability, Jewel Seeker. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
- Flareon ex / Noctowl runs it in 28 of the 28 lists we have read, seen across 24 different tournaments.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
- Weakness Lightning ×2. Against a Lightning Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,150 tournament lists we have read, 270 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
- Mark H, and that is the letter the next rotation takes away. After that you will not be able to play it in Standard.
