WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT
- Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.
- It has an Ability, Psychic Draw. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
- Alakazam / Dusknoir runs it in 46 of the 46 lists we have read, seen across 15 different tournaments.
- Mark I. The next rotation takes mark H away, so this one stays tournament legal.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
- It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Kadabra to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
- Weakness Darkness ×2. Against a Darkness Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,150 tournament lists we have read, 1,897 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
