Its Ability

Wash Out

As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may move a Water Energy attached to 1 of your Benched Pokémon to your Active Pokémon. This power can't be used if Blastoise is affected by a Special Condition.

Return 2 Water Energy attached to Blastoise to your hand. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 100 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

    It has an Ability, Wash Out. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

    Retreat cost 3. Once it is out front, it stays there. Pack something that moves it another way, or you will burn whole turns discarding Energy.

    It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Wartortle to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
