Its Ability

Magnetic Search

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your deck for a Lightning or Metal Pokémon, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. This power can't be used if Magnezone is affected by a Special Condition.

Its attacks

Speed Shot

Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that Pokémon. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness, Resistance, Poké-Powers, Poké-Bodies, or any other effects on that Pokémon.

Crush Volt

80

Discard an Energy attached to Magnezone.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

  1. A strength

It has an Ability, Magnetic Search. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

  2. Keep in mind

None of the 5,799 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.

  3. Keep in mind

It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Magneton to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.

  4. Keep in mind

Weakness Fire +30. Against a Fire Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 5,799 tournament lists we have read, 1,356 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.
