Its Ability

Rainbow Float

If any basic Energy card attached to Flygon is the same type as any of your Pokémon, the Retreat Cost for those Pokémon is 0.

Its attacks

Sand Wall

40

Discard a Stadium card your opponent has in play. If you do, prevent all effects of an attack, including damage, done to Flygon during your opponent's next turn.

Power Swing

60+

Does 60 damage plus 10 more damage for each Evolved Pokémon on your Bench.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

  1. A strength

It retreats for free. You can pull it back to the Bench whenever you like, even with no Energy on it at all.

  2. A strength

It has an Ability, Rainbow Float. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

  3. Keep in mind

None of the 5,818 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.

  4. Keep in mind

It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Vibrava to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.

  5. Keep in mind

Weakness Colorless +30. Against a Colorless Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 5,818 tournament lists we have read, 4,202 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.
