Its Ability

Evolutionary Call

Once during your turn, when you play Cradily from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may search your deck for up to 3 in any combination of Basic Pokémon or Evolution cards. Show them to your opponent and put them into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.

Its attacks

Poison Ring

50

The Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. The Defending Pokémon can't retreat during your opponent's next turn.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

  1. A strength

It has an Ability, Evolutionary Call. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

  2. Keep in mind

None of the 5,620 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.

  3. Keep in mind

It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Lileep to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.

  4. Keep in mind

Weakness Fire ×2. Against a Fire Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 5,620 tournament lists we have read, 1,307 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.

Two cards of the same Pokémon can be worth wildly different amounts — it depends on the set, the rarity and the artwork. We put all 9 Cradily cards on one page, priciest first.
