Its Ability

Magnetic Redraw

Once during your turn (before your attack), if Metagross ex is your Active Pokémon, you may use this power. Each player shuffles his or her hand into his or her deck. Then, each player draws 4 cards. This power can't be used if Metagross ex is affected by a Special Condition.

Its attacks

Scanblast

70

Does 70 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon that has the same name as the Defending Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

  1. A strength

150 HP. Only 1 cards in Power Keepers carry more.

  2. A strength

It has an Ability, Magnetic Redraw. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

  3. Keep in mind

Retreat cost 4. Once it is out front, it stays there. Pack something that moves it another way, or you will burn whole turns discarding Energy.

  4. Keep in mind

None of the 5,427 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.

  5. Keep in mind

It is an ex card. The turn it goes down your opponent takes 2 Prizes instead of one, and games do turn on exactly that.

  6. Keep in mind

Weakness Fire ×2. Against a Fire Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 5,427 tournament lists we have read, 1,255 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.
