Its Ability

Ectoplasm

If Dusknoir is your Active Pokémon and would be Knocked Out by damage from your opponent's attack, you may discard all cards attached to Dusknoir LV.X and put Dusknoir LV.X as a Stadium card into play instead of discarding it. This counts as Dusknoir being Knocked Out and your opponent takes a Prize card. As long as you have Dusknoir LV.X as a Stadium card in play, put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokémon between turns. If another Stadium card comes into play or Dusknoir LV.X is discarded by the effect of any attacks, Poké-Powers, Poké-Bodies, Trainer, or Supporter cards, return Dusknoir LV.X to your hand.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

  1. A strength

140 HP. Only 2 cards in Stormfront carry more.

  2. A strength

It has an Ability, Ectoplasm. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

  3. Keep in mind

Retreat cost 3. Once it is out front, it stays there. Pack something that moves it another way, or you will burn whole turns discarding Energy.

  4. Keep in mind

None of the 5,392 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.

  5. Keep in mind

Weakness Darkness ×2. Against a Darkness Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 5,392 tournament lists we have read, 3,349 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.

Two cards of the same Pokémon can be worth wildly different amounts — it depends on the set, the rarity and the artwork. We put all 17 Dusknoir cards on one page, priciest first.
