Mega Greninja ex

Mega Greninja ex arrived with Chaos Rising on 22 May 2026. Here is what it does once it is on the table, and what it is worth right now.

Ninja Spinner120+Water + WaterYou may put a {W} Energy attached to this Pokémon into your hand and have this attack do 80 more damage.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT

  • 350 HP, and nothing in Chaos Rising goes higher. That is the wall your opponent has to break through before taking a Prize.
  • Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.
  • It has an Ability, Mortal Shuriken. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
  • Mega Greninja ex runs it in 30 of the 30 lists we have read, seen across 29 different tournaments.
  • Mark J. The next rotation takes mark H away, so this one stays tournament legal.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

  • It is a Mega Evolution ex, and that is the most expensive rule in the game. The turn it goes down your opponent takes 3 Prizes instead of one. They need six to win, so 2 knockouts on this card are enough. Send it out knowing that.
  • It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Frogadier to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
  • Weakness Lightning ×2. Against a Lightning Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,150 tournament lists we have read, 270 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

These decks really played this card at a tournament. We spot it by the little set code printed at the bottom, the one players copy onto their list — two cards sometimes share a name, the code never lies.

NOW YOUR OWN GAME

You've just read a page about the game. We can do far more with one match.

Everything above is about the game in general. The thing we're really good at is one single match: yours. When a game ends, Pokémon TCG Live leaves you a log — the written record of everything that happened, turn by turn. Paste it here and we'll replay each of your decisions hundreds of times, then tell you which one actually cost you the game.

It's free and there's no account to make. Your log stays in your browser: your browser is what replays the game.
