Charizard ex has appeared in several sets: Obsidian Flames (OBF 125) and Paldean Fates (PAF 54). It is the same card every time — it plays the same, only the artwork and the price change. Here is what it does once it is on the table.
The market for this printing
Near Mint: only very few, tiny white marks on the edges or corners are allowed. The surface must be clean, with no scratches or visible clouding from wear. Creases or significant wear rule out this grade. Never having been played does not, by itself, make a card NM.

What we count
One listing can offer several copies, so we count the cards one by one.
We read the fifty cheapest listings, and that day the list went on past them.
Here’s how they split by condition.
- Near Mint 51 copies across 44 listings
- Excellent 2 copies across 2 listings
In Near Mint, professional and private sellers usually ask about the same price.
How we compare
We compared their 13 listings with 31 listings from private sellers, all in this condition.
These are asking prices. The final price of a sale is something we don’t see.
How fast it goes
From 11 October to 17 October, no copy of this card left for good.
What “left” means
A listing leaves when it drops off the page between two of our checks. It counts if it isn’t back within 6 days, 14 if its seller left all their listings. Gone for good: away 7 days while its seller still sells elsewhere.
Measured on 12 October over thirty days of 600 French cards worth €2 or more: 44% of the copies that left were back within two weeks.
