What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

A strength
120 HP, and nothing in Expedition Base Set goes higher. That is the wall your opponent has to break through before taking a Prize.
A strength
Scorching Whirlwind hits for 120 on 4 Energy. Nothing in Expedition Base Set hits harder for that price.
A strength
It has an Ability, Burning Energy. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
Keep in mind
Retreat cost 3. Once it is out front, it stays there. Pack something that moves it another way, or you will burn whole turns discarding Energy.
Keep in mind
None of the 8,076 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
Keep in mind
It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Charmeleon to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
Keep in mind
Weakness Water ×2. Against a Water Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 8,076 tournament lists we have read, 3,297 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.

The other cards of this Pokémon

Two cards of the same Pokémon can be worth wildly different amounts — it depends on the set, the rarity and the artwork. We put all 110 Charizard cards on one page, priciest first.
