Its Ability

Dig Well

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may look at the top 3 cards of your deck, choose as many Water Energy cards as you like, and attach them to your Pokémon in any way you like. Discard the other cards. This power can't be used if Blastoise is affected by a Special Condition.

Its attacks

Aqua Press

20+

Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to all Pokémon (both yours and your opponent's).

Double Launcher

Discard 2 Energy attached to Blastoise. Choose 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. This attack does 60 damage to each of them. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Blastoise can't use Double Launcher during your next turn.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

A strength
130 HP. Only 2 cards in Platinum carry more.
A strength
It has an Ability, Dig Well. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
Keep in mind
None of the 8,067 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
Keep in mind
It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Wartortle to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
Keep in mind
Weakness Lightning +30. Against a Lightning Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 8,067 tournament lists we have read, 666 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.

The other cards of this Pokémon

Two cards of the same Pokémon can be worth wildly different amounts — it depends on the set, the rarity and the artwork. We put all 44 Blastoise cards on one page, priciest first.
