Pokémon Trader has appeared in several sets: Base Set (BS 77), Legendary Collection (LC 103) and Base Set 2 (B2 106). It is the same card every time — it plays the same, only the artwork and the price change. Here is what it does once it is on the table.

Trade 1 of the Basic Pokémon or Evolution cards in your hand for 1 of the Basic Pokémon or Evolution cards from your deck. Show both cards to your opponent. Shuffle your deck afterward.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

A strength
It retreats for free. You can pull it back to the Bench whenever you like, even with no Energy on it at all.
A strength
No Weakness printed on the card. Nothing doubles up the damage it takes.
Keep in mind
None of the 7,224 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
