Its Ability

Camouflage

If any basic Energy card attached to Kecleon is the same type as the Attacking Pokémon's type, any damage done by attacks from that Pokémon to Kecleon is reduced by 40 (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

Its attacks

Blind Scratch

Flip a coin. If tails, this attack does no damage to the Defending Pokémon. Instead, this attack does 20 damage to 1 of your Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

A strength
Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.
A strength
Blind Scratch hits for 60 on 2 Energy. Nothing in Secret Wonders hits harder for that price.
A strength
It has an Ability, Camouflage. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
A strength
It is a Basic Pokémon. You can put it down on your very first turn, with nothing to evolve through.
Keep in mind
None of the 8,076 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
Keep in mind
Weakness Fighting +10. Against a Fighting Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 8,076 tournament lists we have read, 1,891 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.

The other cards of this Pokémon

Two cards of the same Pokémon can be worth wildly different amounts — it depends on the set, the rarity and the artwork. We put all 12 Kecleon cards on one page, priciest first.
