Altaria has appeared in several sets: Crown Zenith (CRZ:GG GG19) and Evolving Skies (EVS 106). It is the same card every time — it plays the same, only the artwork and the price change. Here is what it does once it is on the table.

What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

A strength
It retreats for free. You can pull it back to the Bench whenever you like, even with no Energy on it at all.
A strength
It has an Ability, Tempting Tune. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
A strength
No Weakness printed on the card. Nothing doubles up the damage it takes.
Keep in mind
None of the 7,289 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
Keep in mind
Mark E. It is not among the marks currently accepted in Standard: H, I, and J. A legal reprint may still provide an exception.
