The Black Bolt Elite Trainer Box
Here is what we know about this box today: what it looks like, and what it costs right now. Every card it can hand you comes from Black Bolt, and you can go and see them one by one further down.
Packs, plus the gear you need once you actually sit down to play. The box is where everything lives afterwards.

Photos of the box
These photos show the carton from every side. We did not take them ourselves, and we have not opened this box.
What nobody can promise you
Nobody can tell you what is inside a sealed pack. Not us, not the seller, not the person swearing otherwise in a video. What you are buying here is luck, and you will only know what you got once the packs are open. If you are after particular cards for a deck, buying them one at a time will cost you less. And if you want to open packs because opening packs makes you happy, that is a perfectly good reason too — just say it to yourself before you pay.

9 packs in the box, so US$21.88 a pack.

We go and read this price every day, in your own country. The date written next to it is the day we read it. A price we have not seen again for more than three days leaves this page instead of growing old on it.
The cards in Black Bolt
Every card these packs can hold comes from Black Bolt. No other set goes into this box. If the card you are chasing was never printed in Black Bolt, it will not come out of here, however lucky you get.
Black Bolt reached shops on 17 July 2025. The publisher lists 86 cards in it.
What about the other sets?
Every set in the game sits on one page, newest at the top, with the day it reached shops here and the number of cards it holds. If you are wondering what has just landed, or when the next one is due, that is where to look.
Where these numbers come from
The set name, its three-letter code and its release date come from our own table of sets. The title, the photos and the price are the ones on the market for your language, and we go and read them every day. The price per pack is a division: today's price, divided by how many packs the box holds. That number is written by the seller, either in the title of the listing or in the lines where they say what is inside, and when they say it nowhere there is no price per pack at all.
These pages are about the same corner of the game. If you came away from this one still wondering about something, start with one of them.
- ReadRarity symbols, countedThe symbol at the bottom of your card tells you which pile it came out of. Everyone shows you the symbols. We counted how many cards carry each one, set by set, so you can tell at a glance whether the card in your hand is one in three or one in eight hundred.
- ReadSet symbols and codesThree capital letters on a decklist, a small symbol at the bottom of a card. Here is every set with its printed code, its release date, how many cards it holds — and the Japanese set it was built from, which is the column nobody else publishes.
- ReadUpcoming sets and release datesThe next expansion already exists — it has been on sale in Japan for weeks. Here is what is in it, and the window our measured Japan-to-here gap puts it in. Plus every past release with its real date on both sides.
- ReadWhat to buy, countedBooster box, Elite Trainer Box, League Battle Deck: every shelf wants your money and none of them tells you what the decks people actually play are made of. We count that, off real tournament lists, and we tell you which product can even contain what you need.
- ReadWhat the boxes are worthWhat does a booster box, a bundle or an Elite Trainer Box cost? We take down the price of five thousand boxes every day and rank the priciest. And separately, the ones whose price rests on nothing solid — and why.
