Klefki
Klefki has appeared in several sets: Scarlet & Violet (SVI 96) and Paldean Fates (PAF 159). It is the same card every time — it plays the same, only the artwork and the price change. Here is what it does once it is on the table.

WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT
- Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.
- It has an Ability, Mischievous Lock. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
- It is a Basic Pokémon. You can put it down on your very first turn, with nothing to evolve through.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

- Weakness Metal ×2. Against a Metal Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,150 tournament lists we have read, 464 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
- Mark G, and that letter has already left the format. You can still play it at home, or keep it in your binder. In a Standard tournament, no: the letters allowed today are H, I, and J.
