What to make of it

Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.

WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT

  • 120 HP, and nothing in Expedition Base Set goes higher. That is the wall your opponent has to break through before taking a Prize.
  • It has an Ability, Dark Aura. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

  • Retreat cost 4. Once it is out front, it stays there. Pack something that moves it another way, or you will burn whole turns discarding Energy.
  • None of the 3,240 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
  • It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Pupitar to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
  • Weakness Fighting ×2. Against a Fighting Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,240 tournament lists we have read, 756 run at least one Pokémon of that type.

Who plays it

None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.
