WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT
- 320 HP. Only 2 cards in Paradox Rift carry more.
- It retreats for free. You can pull it back to the Bench whenever you like, even with no Energy on it at all.
- Hydro Lander hits for 160 on 1 Energy. Nothing in Paradox Rift hits harder for that price.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
- None of the 3,299 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
- It is an ex card. The turn it goes down your opponent takes 2 Prizes instead of one, and games do turn on exactly that.
- It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Gabite to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
- Weakness Lightning ×2. Against a Lightning Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,299 tournament lists we have read, 281 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
- Mark G, and that letter has already left the format. You can still play it at home, or keep it in your binder. In a Standard tournament, no: the letters allowed today are H, I, and J.
