Its Ability
Flutter Wings
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your deck for a Grass Pokémon, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. This power can't be used if Beedrill is affected by a Special Condition.
Its attacks
Needle Shock
30The Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed and Poisoned. Ignore this effect if any of your Pokémon used Needle Shock during your last turn.
What to make of it
Have a look at what it does well, then at what will get in your way. After that you'll know whether it belongs in your deck.
WHAT IT HAS GOING FOR IT
- Retreat cost 1. One Energy to discard and it is back on the Bench, which matters a lot on the turn you need to swap attackers.
- It has an Ability, Flutter Wings. An Ability costs you no attack, so you can use it and still swing the same turn.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
- None of the 3,240 tournament lists we have read runs it. That does not make it a bad card — it means we have not seen it on a table yet.
- It is a Stage 2. You have to come through Kakuna to get here, or find a Rare Candy to skip the middle step.
- Weakness Fire +30. Against a Fire Pokémon, apply that to the damage it takes — it climbs fast. Of the 3,240 tournament lists we have read, 804 run at least one Pokémon of that type.
Who plays it
None of the tournament lists we have read mentions this card. That happens with a card that has just come out, or one players have not tried yet.
The other cards of this Pokémon
Two cards of the same Pokémon can be worth wildly different amounts — it depends on the set, the rarity and the artwork. We put all 30 Beedrill cards on one page, priciest first.
